120 years of family history
Dhe history of the hotels begins on the Baumen farm more than 100 years ago. As the family grew, so did our hotels.
Hotel Alexander
1960
With the groundbreaking ceremony on December 10th, the construction of the Hotel Alexander begins. Builders and first owners are Charles and Anna Hasler-Jüsten.
1961
At the end of June, after only six months of construction, the first guests move in.
1962
The new hotel will be officially opened on May 26th. The medium-sized, first-class hotel has around 80 beds in 47 rooms, all with bathrooms and balconies overlooking the lake. It is built according to the most modern principles and furnished in the style of the 1960s.
1969
After marrying Vreny Reis, the sons of the Hans Hasler-Reis family take over the hotel business. 1969A large conference hall is added to extend the season through seminar tourism.
1971
Installation of a new hotel bar next to the hotel lobby. 1976 Construction of a heated swimming pool in the garden.
1977
Addition and extension of 8 rooms and the owner's apartment.1980After all the rooms have been renovated over the years and equipped with radio, telephone and television, a fire protection system is installed. The rooms, hall, bar, reception, dining room and facade were completely renovated every five years.
2003
New construction of the Vitalis world of well-being together with the Hotel Gerbi.
2005
Christian and Petra Hasler-Steinberger take over the Hotel Alexander from their parents and are hosts together with their children Lukas, Lisa and Fabian.
2006
The hotel bar is being redesigned.
2008
The 50-year-old kitchen is undergoing a total renovation. Equipment, tiles, cold rooms, everything will be replaced.
Hotel lobby with the reception will be rebuilt.
2009
The restaurant is completely redesigned.
2015
A major renovation is carried out. The outdoor pool is moved to the west side and connected to the Vitalis Spa. A large conference and banquet hall with up to 140 seats is added and the terrace is tripled.
2016
The fitness room will be newly equipped.
Hotel Gerbi
1979
Purchase of the Gerbi property by Hans and Vreny Hasler-Reis. Unfortunately, the old house from 1795, as well as the extension in which a tannery was operated, was in a very bad condition, so that the idea of converting it into a hotel had to give way to a new building.
1985
Demolition of the old building and start of construction of the new Gerbi.
1987
The 4-star Hotel Gerbi will open on June 25th. It is built in the style of the former country house and has 18 rooms, 4 junior suites with kitchenette, 4 maisonette apartments with several rooms and kitchen. A rustic, elegant interior characterizes the ambience of the house and gives an idea of the former country house.
1989
After just one year of operation, the first conversion is already necessary. A small hall for conferences and banquets is built from two ground-floor rooms. 2003 New construction of the Vitalis world of well-being together with the Hotel Alexander.
2005
Mischa and Dagmar Hasler-Aasman are taking over the Hotel Gerbi from their parents and are hosts with their daughters Céline, Catherine and Caroline
2007-2010
All rooms, restaurant and hotel lobby are renovated and refurnished. 2011The conference hall is renovated and the cozy Bistro Restaurant Gerberei is created. At the same time, the restaurant terrace will be enlarged.
2016
The forecourt and garden are being redesigned and giving the hotel a new, modern appearance.
