Hotel Gerbi

1979 Hans and Vreny Hasler-Reis purchase the Gerbi estate. Unfortunately, the old residential building from 1795, as well as the annex in which a tannery was run, were in a very poor condition and the idea of remodelling them to make a hotel had to be abandoned in favour of a new building.
1985 The old building is torn down and construction of the new Gerbi begins.
1987 The 4-star Hotel Gerbi opens on 25th June. It is built in the style of the former country house and hosts 18 rooms, 4 junior suites with a kitchenette, and four two-level apartments with several rooms and a kitchen. Reminiscent of the former country-house style, the elegant rustic interior lends the building a pleasant ambience.
1989 After only one year of operation, the first conversion becomes necessary. A small seminar and banquet hall is built from two ground-floor rooms.
