We continue their traditions, further develop the services we offer our guests, and, through our decisions, contribute to ensuring that our children and their descendants also have a livelihood.

We are committed to a sustainable approach to our environment, society and economy.
On our property there are many fruit trees, herbs and plants for humans and animals.
We buy in local the eggs, cheese, vegetables, bread and fruits. Regional we buy in milk products, meat and wine.
All rooms are equipped with windows with triple-glazing.
We use the waste-heat of the freezers and the warm air of the Vitalis SPA for heat-recovery.
Who arriving by public transport can be picked up by our shuttle free of charge in Weggis.
All sanitary facilities are equipped with an aerator.
We follow a strict waste recycling. Kitchen waste is processed into biogas.
Swiss sustainable
We are part of the Swisstainable movement. The Alexander and Gerbi hotels carry the Swisstainable label from Switzerland Tourism. This label recognizes tourism businesses that are committed to environmentally conscious practices. You can find out exactly what this means in the video.
How you can support us
Together with «cause we care» from myclimate, we are committed to a sustainable future.
The CHF 2.00 you donate with your booking will be doubled. Three-quarters of this goes into our fund to replace the current oil pump with a seawater heating system. The remaining quarter supports Schnarwyler SWISS MADE cosmetics from Weggis. For every refill cosmetic product sold, Schnarwyler makes a significant contribution to this organization, which fights against plastic pollution worldwide.

Under construction
Since autumn 2025, we have been building a sustainable seawater pump to generate heat for all our facilities. It will replace our old oil heating system and will be operational from spring 2028.
Voluntary climate protection and energy efficiency
We are committed to sustainable climate protection out of conviction. By voluntarily participating in the program of the German Business Energy Agency, we pledge to actively reduce CO2 emissions and optimize energy efficiency.

Reside
Accommodation is available for our employees in the immediate vicinity. In this way, we not only save emissions from the commute to work, our employees also gain valuable free time.

We are a family business. Everyone here knows each other personally. We see our employees as individual personalities. We don't have anonymous open-plan offices.

We support further training: we fully cover the costs for language courses.

Our employees enjoy a 50% reduction on all offers, drinks and food in the hotel.

Employees have free access to the Spa Vitalis twice a month. They also have the option of staying at another Private Selection Hotel at the special "Selected Friends" rate.
